5 Feb 2011 – Port Welshpool

We arrived at Port Welshpool yesterday to ride out the weather – forecast to reach up to 35knots on Saturday night. The BOM radar suggests the remains of Cyclone Yasi may influence the weather in Victoria so we’re not keen to expose ourselves in the middle of Bass Strait – it’s a 2-3day sail directly to Eden so we’ll bide our time and sail when the weather improves. We’re tied up on the pier and at present the wind is around 15kn from WSW.

Ol' man of the sea

It’s Wayne’s birthday today so a treat of bacon and eggs for breaky for him and tonight I’ll cook a tasty beef roast with spuds, peas, carrots and his favourite Vegemite gravy!

Happy Birthday to my ol’ man of the sea!
