Bay of Bengal – day 7

On the final leg – only 150 miles to go! Consistent 10-20 knot northeasterly has Blue Heeler sailing at 6+ knots for the past few days clocking 150nm each day. Seas around 1-3m. Our ETA at Galle Harbour currently Sunday 2 March. Just in time for customs to open on Monday morning.

Shipping lane to the south has many ships heading to/from Suez and Singapore. Still some miles from us but we can see them on our AIS and we’ll be amongst them when we round the south of the island. Indian Coast Guard called us a few days ago to ask about our travels. He was very friendly and wished us a good trip. Have seen only two fishing vessels in 900nm.

Crew all well and looking forward to stretching the legs on land. Current position 06deg 22.36’N, 082deg 47.08’E.
